Welcome Alexandra Tendall, to Higher Spa
Your pain is unique. Your stress and relief needs are unique, too. Higher Spa, in Basalt, Colorado, invites you to receive healing relief from our newest team member, Alexandra Tendall.
Alexandra recently moved from northern California to Colorado, bringing her healthy lifestyle and positive attitude with her! She went to the prestigious Phillips School of Massage, for her massage therapy training.
According to Ali, stress is at the root of most physical conditions. When injuries are not responding to common treatments and massage, relieving stress and negative energy can "open the door" for healing.
In her treatments, she blends therapeutic Deep Tissue techniques with energywork. This unique approach enables her to effectively relieve pain and tension from:
* Injuries,
* Chronic pain,
* Stress and fatigue
* Past trauma, and
* Sports training.

Endorphin High with waterfalls
At Higher Spa in Basalt, Colorado, our signature spa treatment is called an Endorphin High. It features a stretchy sports massage for muscle recovery, with a salt scrub, essential oil blends, and muscle relief balm.
Here's an example of getting a natural endorphin high, a cliff dive alongside a gushing waterfall (nice rainbow!):
Whoa! Note: You don't need to be that adventurous to get an Endorphin High spa treatment from the sports massage therapists at Higher Spa.

*Incoming: Sore Skiers!*
Recent snowstorms, with predictions of snow all week long, are great for skiing conditions in the Aspen valley.
Wet, heavy snow is harder to ski in, so skiers' legs will get sore. If you expect to ski this week in Aspen, here are some ways you can prevent and relieve soreness:
- Stretch before you put on your gear and head up the hill.
- Keep drinking Water, while you ski and for days to follow. "If the altitude and fun times don't get ya, the dry air will."
- Eat mineral-rich foods, with magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Fish, leafy green vegetables, almonds and other nuts are good sources.
- Get a Massage. In Colorado's Aspen valley, visit Higher Spa in Basalt. Their sports massage therapists will relieve soreness, speed recovery, and get you back in Play mode.
- If you dare, if you have painfully-burning quads (i.e., your thighs, not the chair-lifts that swoosh skiers up the mountain), take an Ice bath. Yikes...
Spring skiing is fun with fresh snow and warmer temperatures. Practice these tips to prevent soreness, relieve pain, and Have More Fun!
